which 指物，在定語從句中作主語或賓語。（作賓語時可省略）

A dictionary is a book which gives the meaning of words. 詞典是解釋詞的意義的書。（作主語）

This is a book (which)I bought yesterday. 這就是我昨天買的那本書。（作賓語）

注：which引導(dǎo)的定語從句還可以修飾前面的整個主句，此時which相當(dāng)于and this。如：

He won the first prize in the competition, which made his parents very happy.

他在競賽中獲得一等獎，這使他的父母感到高興。

The weather turned out to be very fine, which was more than we could expect. 天氣變晴了，這出乎我們的意料。
